Why I Don’t Take Insurance — And What That Means for You

If you've ever waited months for an appointment, felt rushed through your visit, or left the doctor’s office with more questions than answers — you’re not alone.

At Empower Women’s Health, I’ve chosen to step outside the traditional insurance-based system to offer something better: personalized, accessible, and transparent care for women like you.

Let me explain why I made this choice — and how it benefits you.

The Problem with Insurance-Based Healthcare

Most healthcare providers today are caught in a system that prioritizes billing codes over human connection. When insurance companies are involved, providers are often forced to:

  • See more patients in less time

  • Spend hours on documentation and approvals

  • Limit care to what’s “covered,” not what’s best

As a result, patients experience:

  • Short, impersonal visits

  • Delays in care

  • Confusing bills and surprise charges

That’s not the kind of care I believe women deserve.

What I Offer Instead

By not taking insurance, I’m able to offer:

  • Longer, unrushed appointments where you feel truly heard

  • Direct access to me via secure messaging between visits

  • Personalized treatment plans that go beyond cookie-cutter care

  • Transparent, upfront pricing with no surprise bills

  • Freedom to focus on what’s best for your health — not what’s reimbursable

You’ll know exactly what you’re paying for, and you’ll get the time and attention your health deserves.

Can You Use HSA/FSA or Submit for Reimbursement?

Yes! While I don’t bill insurance directly, many patients choose to:

  • Pay using HSA or FSA funds

  • Submit a “superbill” to their insurance for out-of-network reimbursement

I’m happy to provide the documentation you need for this process.

Why This Model Works — Especially for Women

Too often, women’s health concerns are dismissed, minimized, or overlooked in traditional settings. My model allows me to:

  • Take the time to get to the root of your symptoms

  • Support your wellness through every stage: contraception, postpartum, perimenopause, and beyond

  • Build real, ongoing relationships with my patients

In short — I’m not just checking boxes. I’m here to support your long-term health goals.
